LANDSCAPES

Turbulent skies sweep over wild seas and empty land.  A ferocious sun explodes through an atmosphere thick with moisture and wind.  Our world is in a state of constant and violent transformation.  Not only the air above and the sea below, but even the land, whether volcanic, tilled soil or  granite rock. 

It is as if we live on a distant planet, inhospitable and alien, full of swirling gas, fire and dangerous tremors, but it is our birthplace and home and if we look at what is actually before us, not at what we would wish to be there, stillness and calm are never more than temporary lulls in the ongoing mayhem of our life on this earth.

There are approximately one hundred paintings in the Landscapes series.
